Closing Logo Group

Yaltafilm is a Crimean film production company based in Yalta and founded in 1917. It was initially a filming base of A. Khanzhonkov and Co. before it became its own film factory two years later when a decree signed by Vladimir Lenin nationalized Khanzhonkov. Throughout its time during the Soviet era, the company had many movies filmed here from multiple film studios including Soyuzditfilm and Mosfilm. It wasn't until 1988 that the studio became independent and eventually produced its own movies. In 2003, the studio was purchased by the Russian company Policom-Vest OOO, which was transformed into the State Unitary Enterprise of the Republic of Crimea after Crimea was annexed by Russia in 2014. By then, Yaltafilm has fallen into disrepair and the Administration of the Republic of Crimea proposed to the Russian government about reviving the studio by bringing new filmmakers from Russia to work within the studio. In September of that year, the privatization of the film studio was canceled.

1st Logo (1989-1994)[]

Logo: On a black background, an orange sun rises from the surface, revealing the warm, red skies and the silhouettes of the clouds. It shines, allowing its sun rays to wipe in as well as the bottom text reading "ЯЛТАФИЛьМ" in a 3D font, lying down on a dark ocean surface.

  • On Murder at Sunshine Manor, the background is more detailed and the sun rises slower than usual.
  • On Svetik, the sun is smaller.
  • On Empire of Pirates, the background is already revealed and a portion of the clouds are gleamed upon the sun's rays.
  • On Katafalk, the logo is next to the Mosfilm logo. Underneath both logos is the text reading "Experimental youth creative association".

FX/SFX: Live action and motion-controlled animation.

Music/Sounds: None or the opening of the movie.

Availability: Scarce, as there are not many known films produced by the studio containing this logo. This was seen on Gentlemen Artists, Murder at Sunshine Manor, Svetik, among others.

Editor's Note: None.

2nd Logo (2008-2014?)[]

Logo: A close-up of a blurry yellow vertical bar fades in on a black background, gradually zooming out to reveal a warped triangle shape consisting of blue, orange, and lime-colored sides separated by a cross-like symbol and the blue portion partly being covered by a sun shape. Soon after, a small light trail traces around the cross and fills it alongside the sun shape, followed by a roughly-drawn blue line to be drawn from the right underneath the symbol. After this, the company name "ЯЛТА ФИЛьМ" wipes in.

Variant: An English-language variant exists, replacing the company name in Ukrainian with that in English, reading 'YALTA FILM".

FX/SFX: 2D animation.

Music/Sounds: A peaceful string fanfare with a rising choir near the end.

Availability: So far, it can be seen on Summer Lover and The Good Soldier Shweik.

Editor's Note: None.
