Universal TV was originally released as USA Network in Latin America.

This logo was used during the "3-in-1" era of the channel, which had three separately-branded programming strands: Calle 13 (Rua 13 in Brazil), Studio Universal and Sci Fi.

2004–2007[]

Universal Channel 2004

Universal Channel was launched in the autumn of 2004, becoming the new name of USA Network in Latin America. [1][2] The identity was created by Aerodrome Pictures.

2007–2011[]

Universal Channel got an updated look on September 15, 2007.[3] This time the look was created by Nailgun.[4]

During 2007 and 2008, Universal Channel was expanding into Europe and Asia, using the same logo and graphics as the Latin American version.

2011–2013[]

Universal Channel 2010

As part of a relaunch of NBCUniversal's international channels, Universal Channel is given a new look in 2010. The new look was developed by Heavenly and We Are Seventeen. Heavenly also created the new logo.

The new Universal Channel was rolled out region by region during 2010. The rollout included both existing versions of Universal Channel and several versions of Hallmark Channel (International).

2013–2018[]

Universal Channel 2013

Universal Channel started the rollout of its current logo on 3 May 2013. Alongside the new logo, a new slogan, "100% Characters", and a new purple and turqouise colour scheme was introduced.

This logo was launched in Latin America on July 1, 2013, simultaneously with a high-definition version of the channel in Brazil, where the channel started being verbally referenced to as "Canal Universal" (literally, "Universal Channel" in Portuguese).

Universal Channel changed its name to Universal TV on August 6th in Brazil and on October 1st in Spanish-speaking countries.
