Background: Trilogy Entertainment Group is the production company of Pen Densham and John Watson (the producers of Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves).
1st Logo (1993-Early 2000's)[]
Nickname: "Shiny Triangle"
Logo: On a dark blue background with a gold triangle behind and a circle in it, we see rings of fire, which absorbs into the circle. Afterwards, "TRILOGY", spaced out and with a line below it, fades in, shining, with "ENTERTAINMENT GROUP" below.
FX/SFX: Nice CGI.
Music/Sounds: An epic-sounding fanfare, with some sparkling sounds after the logo finishes.
Availability: Can be seen on early episodes of The Outer Limits. It was also seen on Space Rangers.
Editor's Note: The warping fire may be jarring, but that's more due to the logo's abrupt entrance than anything.
2nd Logo (1995-2007)[]
Nicknames: "Shiny Triangle II"
Logo: On a black background, we see triangle outline-shaped blue light shining from the top center. In the center of the triangle, more light comes out, in the shape of a circle, forming the Trilogy logo from before. The light dies down into a glow, as the background turns dark blue, and the company name appears below, glowing in blue.
Variants:
- Sometimes, "ENTERTAINMENT GROUP" would not appear on the bottom. This appears on Poltergeist: The Legacy, the TV movie Brother's Keeper, the short-lived series Breaking News, and the 2002 revival of The Twilight Zone.
- There is a short version in which the circle forms the Trilogy logo only.
- At the end of Just Buried, the print version was used as an in-credit logo.
FX/SFX: The logo forming.
Music/Sounds: A dramatic remix of the theme from the previous logo. The short version had the first three notes in warp speed, then it ends with the last note.
Music/Sounds Variant: On Brother's Keeper and Breaking News, the closing theme is heard.
Availability: Appeared on The Outer Limits, Poltergeist: The Legacy , The Magnificent Seven, and the 2002 revival of The Twilight Zone, all of which exist on DVD.
3rd Logo (March 1, 2012- )[]
Nickname: "Silver Triangle"
Trivia: The logo was made and animated at Becker Design.
Logo: We zoom out from a silver sphere as a ring flips around on the dark cerulean gradient background. Two different triangles flip up as 2 lines draw and "TRILOGY" flips and zoom out. "ENTERTAINMENT GROUP" then flips in as the logo is fully formed.
FX/SFX: CGI-Animation from Becker Design.
Music/Sounds: A calm remix of the logo's theme.
Availability: First appeared on The Phantom. The logo with the theme can be seen at Becker Design's official site (www.aaronbecker.tv)
