Background: Shortly after the purchase of Turner Broadcasting by parent company Time Warner, Telepictures Distribution was formed in 1996 reincorporating Turner Program Services after folding it into Telepictures Productions. The company distributed non-Warner Bros. produced programming to which the syndication rights have been licensed to Warner and/or Turner as well as Warner properties such as re-runs of The West Wing and The Jamie Foxx Show. In 2003, Telepictures Distribution was folded into "Warner Bros. Television Distribution".
(1997-2003)[]
Nickname: "Magnifying Glass Ball"
Logo: On a blue background, a glass-like ball passes across the middle bringing forth:
Telepictures
DISTRIBUTION
....just like the original logo, except updated with a gold font for "Telepictures". The word "DISTRIBUTION" is in a white Century Gothic font. The words in the ball look as if they are being magnified. When the logo is finished a flash of light appears in the center and spins upward to dot the "i" in "Telepictures." The entire logo then shines.
Variant: One version has the print logo with "distributed by" above it, the word "and" in the middle of the screen, and below that, the words "Time Publishing Ventures" written in the Time Magazine logo font, all against a blue background.
FX/SFX: The CGI glass ball passing over the letters, the logo shining.
Music/Sounds: A majestic uplifting orchestral piece with a chime-like sound at the end. The end theme may also play over it.
Music/Sounds Variant: A short version exists.
Availability: Rare. It's currently seen on The Jamie Foxx Show on Centric. It's also seen on reruns of Mama's Family, whichever network reruns it. It also was recently seen on the Night Court episode "The Former Harry Stone" on Encore Classic (formerly Encore Love).
