In 1999, Talkback was acquired by Pearson Television. At the same time, the logo was altered so that it was formed entirely in lowercase. In 2001, Pearson became the part of RTL Group who renamed the UK television production unit FremantleMedia (now Fremantle).

In 2003, Talkback was merged with Thames, to form Talkback Thames. Both companies had remained separate identities on most programmes until 2006 when all productions became credited to Talkback Thames.

In 2012, FremantleMedia split the former company, Talkback Thames, into four companies, Talkback for comedy, Thames for entertainment, Boundless for factual and Retort for indies.

Following the name change of FremantleMedia to simply Fremantle on September 2018, the 1981 logo was reinstated, but the design looks a bit different.
