Background: Spelling-Goldberg Productions was the result of a partnership between Aaron Spelling and Leonard J. Goldberg (who also founded Mandy Films). In 1977, Spelling and Goldberg went their separate ways, and the assets were sold to Columbia Pictures. It was folded in 1989 after Heartbeat got canceled. Today, most of the Spelling/Goldberg library is handled and distributed by Sony Pictures Television, who also was the co-producer of a fraction of the library (as Columbia Pictures Television).
