Closing Logo Group

Background: Saturn Productions was an American home video distributor that was founded in 1983 in New York City, known for many of its martial arts and horror films. Saturn Productions suddenly went defunct in 1988. After it went defunct, Saturn's video library then sold by Video Treasures and re-released many of Saturn's martial arts films. In 2000, Saturn Productions was revived as an independent video distributor by John Matarazzo in which re-released many of its martial arts films to DVD. But it was unfortunately short-lived and the revived company shutdown in mid-2001. John Matarazzo then later on founded Passion Productions to continue releasing martial arts films but unfortunately never re-released any of Saturn's remaining films to DVD. Passion Productions was also a short-lived company which closed down around 2003.

Saturn Productions

Nicknames: "Satan Productions Inc.", "Saturn of Doom"

Logo: On a space background, a star moves diagonally from the right before turning to the direction it came from halfway. As it goes across the middle, it enlarges itself into an orange circle covering the whole screen, as if it were exploding into the supernova. It then zooms out while something else zooms in in it's place. It is revealed to be Saturn where it is in the same color as the circle while the rings are in mauve. "SATURN" appears in yellow on the planet's face while "PRODUCTIONS INC." appears in navy blue on the rings.

FX/SFX: The animation.

Music/Sounds: A dark 1-note theme, with a loud whoosh as the logo zooms in. The entirety of the audio resembles Camp Video's.

Availability: Extremely rare. Seen on their only 1983 VHS release Christmas Evil. Also seen on many martial arts and horror films.

Editor's Note: None.
