Closing Logo Group

Background: Platinum was founded in 1995 to release VHSs [and later DVDs] of public domain films for a cheaper price than other companies. In 2002, Platinum acquired PM Entertainment, an independent film studio, from the Harvey Entertainment Group. This allowed Platinum to begin releasing modern films as well as the older movies. In 2005, Platinum merged with Echo Bridge Entertainment to form Echo Bridge Home Entertainment, which would become one of the largest DVD distributors in the country. Echo Bridge continues to use the Platinum brand for some releases.

(1995-October 2003)

Logo: On a blurry sky background, the letters in "PLATINUM", colored platinum, zoom in from below. Then, a bright flash brings forth a pink/white gradient oval-like shape (meant to be a silhouette of a disc) under the word as well as the words "disc corporation" in a gray Pepita font.

Variant: TBA

Music/Sounds: A 3-note synth-orchestra tune, similar to the beginning of the Stand VCI logo.

Availability: Seen on early Platinum releases, such as Hangmen and Fist of Fear, Touch of Death.

(October 2003-2005)

Logo: On a black background, we see a rotating disc. Then, a blue light source appears behind. The disc rotates to front view and zooms in to show the logo engraved on the surface. The disc then fades out.

Variant: Sometimes, such as on a DVD of Blue River, only "disc" is shown below the logo.

Music/Sounds: A light synth-piano theme with a film projector sounds, followed by a 7-note oboe tune.

Availability: Seen on later Platinum releases.
