The original incarnation of News Corporation was an American multinational mass media corporation operated and owned by media mogul, Rupert Murdoch, headquartered in New York City.
1980–2013[]
The company was created in 1980 as a holding company for News Limited (now News Corp Australia). On June 28, 2013, News Corporation split into the new conglomerates; 21st Century Fox (defunct) and the present-day News Corp.
