(June 1, 1990; 1993, December 15, 1995; March 28-November 25, 1998; May 1-November 4, 1999; 2001)

Logo: We see a moving grid on a light blue/black background, and then a golden filmstrip suddenly appears. It moves upward, and then we move to the top of it, zooming our face into the filmstrip. Once we reach the top, the filmstrip rotates and then we zoom out from it, revealing a merged "NT". The red Chinese text flips and zooms out, with the English translation later doing the same. We zoom into the filmstrip again, finishing the logo.

Variants:

  • There's a B&W variant of this logo.
  • Another variant has the zoom-in at the end cut.
  • An open-matted version exists.
  • A variant have the english name (at the bottom) partially cutted-off by cropping a fullscreen print to fit into widescreen.

FX/SFX: All done in CGI.

Music/Sounds: A whoosh, followed by the music "Blaze of Brass (c)" by Cecil Milner, with another whoosh.

Music/Sounds Variant: The 2nd variant of the logo used a dramatic synth fanfare with ascending sections.

Availability: Seen on some movies of them like Never Say Regret, Painted Skin, A Serious Shock! Yes Madam!, Leopard Hunting, Faces of Horror, Raging Angels, The Golden Nightmare, Black Wind Inn and Redgrass Land. The  black and white version was seen in a print of Painted Skin, the open-matte variant appeared in a VHS release of Never Say Regret, and the widescreen cropped variant appeared on Painted Skin, Tought Beauty and the Sloppy Slop and Black Wind Inn.

Scare Factor: Medium to high. The music is loud and the logo appears so suddenly, and the zoom in at the end can top it all off. Low to medium for the 2nd variant, as the synth music sounds a bit less bombastic and the lack of the zoom at the end would make people feel less nervous.
