Background: Multimedia Motion Pictures (AKA "Multimedia Television Productions") was a division of Multimedia Entertainment that specialized in made-for-TV movies. It was created in 1991 after Multimedia, Inc. acquired the assets of Orbis Communications on September 17 of that year.
1st Logo
(1991-1993)
Nickname: "Circle M", "Multimedia M", "The Camera Shutter"
Logo: On a metallic silver background, we see a film projector, rotating. We pan it into a camera, and we see the camera shutter zooming in, opening it up to reveal a metallic background, with the blue Multimedia logo (consisting on many triangular wedges make up a circle), and down below, we see the text "MULTIMEDIA TELEVISION PRODUCTIONS" in blue.
Variant: A short version of the logo exists.
FX/SFX: The shutter rotating, all decent CGI from the early 1990s.
Music/Sounds: Whoosh and camera sounds. Sometimes silent or the end theme of the show.
Availability: Seen on earlier Multimedia TV movies, like Deadly Medicine and Desperate Rescue: The Cathy Mahone Story.
2nd Logo
(1992-1995)
Nicknames: "Circle M II", “Golden M", "Multimedia M II", "Golden Multimedia M"
Logo: On a blue marble background, we pan up to reveal liquid 3D words "MULTIMEDIA" and below it is "MOTION PICTURES". The liquid then rises, and the shadow starts slowly giving to the background. Then the text then turns gold. and later see a golden Multimedia logo, (consisting on many triangular wedges make up a circle) extrusioned to look tri-dimensional, zooming out and it was placed above the word "MULTIMEDIA", just above the letters "T", "I", and "M".
Variants:
- There is also a still version.
- There is also a short version starting from when the Multimedia logo appears above the text.
FX/SFX: The camera panning, the Multimedia logo glides from the upper left hand side of the screen.
Music/Sounds: A majestic theme, none or the ending theme from the movie.
Availability: Rare.
- This was seen on TV movies produced by this company like Jack Reed: Badge of Honor and Dazzle.
- Those movies have not been seen on TV in years, but may pop-up on LMN.
- Some prints, especially the TV ones, has this logo plastered by the Hamdon Entertainment logo.
- The still version is seen on the Starmaker VHS release of Deadly Matrimony.
- The logo was used in tandem with the Multimedia Television Productions logo during its early years.
