Background[]
Moonbeam Films (formerly Moonbeam Entertainment) is the family division of Full Moon Features. It was known for specializing in family-orientated sci-fi and fantasy films such as the Prehysteria! trilogy and Pet Shop. It was later replaced by the PulsePounders label in 1997, but was later revived in 2012.
Moonbeam Entertainment[]
(June 30, 1993-May 21, 1996; Late 2010s-)[]
Logo: On a starry space background, there is a moon at the top of the screen. A blue comet flies around the moon from the left, and the text:
MOONBEAM
ENTERTAINMENT
is formed below in glowing blue letters. The comet freezes at the right, shining brightly, and the text turns gold and shines. The comet stops shining.
Variants:
- A short version is seen on trailers.
- A still variant of this logo can be found on the trailer for Prehysteria!, after the Paramount Pictures logo. Later presentations (except for the Remote VideoZone as seen on its 2022 DVD/Blu-ray) have the short version plaster both logos, although the latter is seen for a split second.
- On current remasters of Moonbeam's features, the animation is redone in widescreen. The moon, which has a new light blue texture, zooms in before the animation plays.
FX/SFX: 2D computer animation.
Music/Sounds: It starts off with a mystical flute/string sounder, which culminates into a majestic fanfare. This theme is composed by Richard Band. Sometimes, it is silent instead.
Availability: Seen on VHS releases of films such as the Prehysteria! trilogy, Pet Shop, and Magic Island, among others. Also appears on Paramount VHS releases of the Josh Kirby series (DVDs use the second Kushner-Locke logo instead). On the Blu-Rays of Prehysteria! and Pet Shop, as well as Tubi prints of their films, this is plastered by the Full Moon Features logo.
Moonbeam Films[]
(2012-)[]
Logo: On a zooming and cloudy space, there is a blue comet that enlights the moon and passes, just like the previous logo. The background ends up in a box and "MOONBEAM F I L M S", in a stacked gold font, zooms out and places itself below the moon.
FX/SFX: CGI.
Music/Sounds: A mystical sounding jingle.
Availability: Seen on current DVD/streaming prints of Teen Knight (retitled Medieval Park) and Magic in the Mirror, among possible others.
