1st Logo (1989-1999)[]
Logo: On a sky background (like in the Warner Home Video, CVD International and KCET "Greetings from L.A." logos) a pair of colored lines (blue-to-red)flies through the sky with the many lots is flying to center. A piece of lines from the previous comes color by color, while "MEGA" is flying it. The lines then rotates and swing, which is synced to the music theme. The words "CHANNEL" in red appears letter by letter. The logo contains colored bars, containing rainbow lines, and the logo finished products reads:
MEGA (in futuristic font)
CHANNEL (in red font)
FX/SFX: CGI animation from the 1989, albeit it's a wardable station logos of Greece, the colored bars looks like a rainbow colored bars to represents a fan.
Variants:
- On the nightly shows, the logo is on a starry background.
- There is a short version used in commercial adverts, but with the text in Hellenic Greek translates to "We'll back during the break of television.".
- An superimposed version has the print logo with the words in Hellenic means "MEGA presents" or "in cooperation with MEGA"
Music/Sounds: A orchestral fanfare with 4-choir notes. Then the 6-notes is heard during the appearing of bars, and the guitar, somber and cymbals is heard when the logo is completely finished.
Music/Sounds/Variants:
- A short version with "We'll back" variant uses the rearranged version of the full version, then ends with 1-note bongo drum.
- There is a early version used in early 1989, has a 13-note orchestral fanfare, then the 5-notes drumbeat is heard (see Music/Sounds here.), and the 7-electronic organ note is heard with the male, female and neutral choir, and then a 3-organ notes began heard. Then the music ends with "pinball noise" twice.
Availability: Extinct. It used as a local ID (or a startup) in 1989 and the 2000 airing of Mega Channel documentaries. Also, the show won't have brought this.
