Background: MGM Interactive is the software division of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, formed in 1995. Its first video game was Wirehead for Sega CD and their last release was the James Bond game From Russia with Love. The name would be phased out after 2005 and future games based on MGM licenses would use the standard MGM logos.
1st Logo (1995-2005)[]
Nicknames: "Leo the Lion", "Gold Ribboning"
Logo: Same as the standard MGM logo but with the words "MGM INTERACTIVE" in a gold Trajan Pro font on the bottom with lines above and below it respectively.
Variants:
- On games for the Game Boy and Nintendo DS, the logo is still.
- In mid-2000s, the logo was given an enhanced look.
- On 007: The World is Not Enough for Nintendo 64, a white background is used.
- On Blown Away, the logo is centered.
FX/SFX: Leo roaring.
Music/Sounds: Leo's re-dubbed roar from 1985.
Music/Sounds Variant:
- On Wirehead, Leo's roar is in a lower tone.
- The James Bond games From Russia with Love and Everything or Nothing have the 1995 roar track.
Availability: The animated version appears on PS, PC, PS2, GC, and Xbox video games by MGM, while the still version is seen on N64, GBC, GBA, and DS games. Such examples include Machine Hunter, 007, and RoboCop, among others.
Scare Factor: Low to medium. Depends on what you think of Leo roaring. None for the still version.
2nd Logo (2008-)[]
Logo: Just the standard MGM lion logo. The logo varies through the time it was used.
- 2008: The 2001 logo.
- 2010: The 2009 logo.
- 2012: The 2012 logo.
Variants: Games for the iPhone and Android use the full color print logo with copyright info underneath. Seen on Army of Darkness - Defense and Wargames: WOPR with the Be-Rad Entertainment logo above.
FX/SFX: Same as the movie logos.
Music/Sounds: Same as the movie logos.
Availability: Seen on games based on MGM licenses. The 2001 logo appears on Quantum of Solace, the 2009 logo is seen on 007: Blood Stone and Goldeneye: Reloaded, and the 2012 logo is seen on 007: Legends, all on PS3 and XBox 360.
