Background[]
Lynch/Frost Productions was a production company that was founded by cult filmmakers David Lynch and Mark Frost, creators and executive producers of Twin Peaks.
1st Logo (1990)[]
Logo: On a black background is the text "LYNCH/FROST" in white above "PRODUCTIONS", also in white.
FX/SFX: None.
Music/Sounds: Electric zapping sounds play throughout.
Availability: Ultra rare. It's only seen on the original pilot of Twin Peaks, which is currently on DVD. The international version has the next logo.
2nd Logo (1990-1992)[]
WARNING! This logo contains flashing images that may cause seizures in some viewers. Please do not watch the videos of this logo if you are prone to seizures. |
Nicknames: "The Rack Logo", "The Shocking Rack"
Logo: On a dark background, two electric circuit racks are placed one above the other. The top rack has the words "LYNCH/FROST" while the bottom reads "PRODUCTIONS". There are electricity zaps throughout the duration of the logo, alongside rapid flashing lights in different sides and corners, and two metallic circles which appear randomly behind the racks.
FX/SFX: The electricity sizzling, the random lights switching on and off, the circles appearing. This is all done in (purposely) crude stop-motion animation.
Music/Sounds: An extended version of the zapping sounds from the previous logo.
Availability: Rare. Seen on Twin Peaks.
Editor's Note: The mishmash of effects and the loud sound of electricity sizzling, coming especially after Angelo Badalamenti's serene music, but especially the sudden start of all this, will definitely startle and scare more than a few; it worsens for those prone to epilepsy (though this logo fits perfectly with the nature of Twin Peaks).
