Liberation Entertainment

Background

Liberation Entertainment was a home entertainment company, known for acquiring and selling film and television content worldwide, and a former member of AFMA. It was formerly called Liberty International Entertainment and started resurrecting under its current name, in late 2005 by ex-MCA Records president Jay Boberg, with offices in Los Angeles and the UK. The company was initially co-founded in 1997 by Irv Holender, the founder of INI Entertainment Group. In America, all of the company's releases were distributed by Genius Products under its resurrected name. Once Genius crumbled in 2009, Liberation folded the same year, with its library being sold one year later to Camelot Entertainment Group, which, in turn, went on in 2013(?) to be acquired by Hollender's then-new outfit Multicom Entertainment.

1st Logo (1997-2006)

Logo: A human right hand holding a torch with file is shown. The camera slowly zooms out slightly circlewise, from the top, as the statue of Liberty, with a wiggling film curled around it, is unveiled. The text "Liberty International Entertainment Inc." is also unveiled from the bottom of the statue, as it moves circlewise and counter-clockwise horizontally. It's ultimately stops beneath the statue. The logo fades out shortly after.

Variants: In a variant, the TM logo appears near the right of the text "Liberty International Entertainment Inc."

FX/SFX: The fire on the torch, the film wiggling around the statue of Liberty, and the text "Liberty International Entertainment Inc." moving circlewise and counter-clockwise horizontally

Music/Sounds: Orchestrated music that's composed, arranged and performed by organist Dave Siebels (also responsible for the background music in the opening of Phenomenon: The Lost Archives and writing the songs for The Return to Treasure Island, both of them distributed by the company).

Music/Sounds Variant: One version of the logo has non-orchestrated sound.

Availability: Seen at the beginning or end Phenomenon: The Lost Archives, This logo was shown a plastering over Arista Films, Film Ventures International, logos. This logo was also seen on classic TV shows before the Official Films library had a plastering over International Creative Exchange logo.

2nd Logo (2006)

Logo: On a black background, we see a light shortly appearing in the center, and a blue rectangle rolling towards different directions, as it moves towards the screen. It stops frontwise and the text "LIBERATION" appears, along with an arrow with a yellow-green arrow with a cartoon hand holding a green torch on it, near said word on the left. The letters of the word "entertainment" come from the right towards beneath "LIBERATION" one by one, to form it. The TM logo appears near the logo from the right, and a light appears on the top of the torch, followed by green fire.

FX/SFX: The blue rectangle rolling towards different directions, "LIBERATION" and the arrow with the torch appearing, the the letters of "entertainment" moving from the right and the flames of the green fire wiggling.

3rd Logo (2006-2009)

Logo: On a black background, we see a white-outlined blue rectangle with the text "LIBERATION" in it near the right. On the left of it is a yellow-green arrow with a cartoon hand holding a black torch with green fire on it. Underneath the design is the text "entertainment", which slowly shines.

FX/SFX: "entertainment" shining.

Music/Sounds: TBA

Availability: Rare. Seen on the Me-TV airing Peter Gunn.
