1st Logo (January 15, 1959-1964)[]

Visuals: The three "T"'s from the 1959 ident are shown underneath "A Tyne Tees Television" and "PRODUCTION" respectively.

Variants:

  • A superimposed variant exists. The background may fade to black.
  • On news programmes, "NEWS" replaces "TELEVISION".
  • An outside broadcast variant exists, consisting of said words next to the "T"'s symbol and the top and bottom text in an arc.
  • On A Matter of Degrees, the logo zooms in.
  • On Solemn High Midnight Mass from Ushaw College, the bottom text now reads "OUTSIDE BROADCAST PRESENTATION".
  • On Your Heritage, "FEATURE PRODUCTION" appears on the bottom.

2nd Logo (1964-July 16, 1970)[]

Visuals: The "T"'s, now thicker, are within a outlined tube shape. "A" and "PRODUCTION" appears above and underneath the logo. Additionally, the channel name may appear instead underneath. Variants:

  • A superimposed variant exists.
  • On Face the Press, the logo is inverted and filled in. It is also within another outlined tube shape, contining the words "TYNE TEES" and "TELEVISION" wrapped over and underneath the logo.
  • In the logo's later years, it is on a blue background.
  • On Turn-up for Tony, the text "INDEPENDENT TELEVISION FOR THE NORTH EAST OF ENGLAND" is added underneath the channel name.

Availability: Appears on programmes by Tyne Tees from the time-period until 1970.

  • These include A Kind of Heaven, Turn-up for Tony, and We are Responsible by Law (for the later variant), among others.
  • This logo also briefly appeared on the ITV Tyne Tees’ 60th Anniversary programme.

3rd Logo (July 17, 1970-September 4, 1988) Visuals:

  • Opening: Same as the station ID of the era.
  • Closing: This is a still version of the 1970 ident with no modifications whatsoever and "COLOUR" is shifted up.

Variants:

  • Before Northern Life pre-1983, the logo turns into a yellow outline as the background fades to black. The logo then quickly forms a large yellow border with a 3x3 grid of square in it as it transitions to the intro.
  • Starting in 1975, a copyright stamp below, reading "© Trident Television Ltd. [YEAR]", added underneath.
  • Following the 1982 split, the copyright now reads "© Tyne Tees Television Ltd. [YEAR]".
  • Sometimes, "COLOUR" is removed. In some cases, the copyright notice is also omitted.
  • On Meanwhile Back in Sunderland, the logo is white on a red background.
  • On The Amazing World of Kreskin, the logo is white on a dark blue background.
  • On Farming Outlook, the logo is on a green background.
  • Programmes co-produced with Channel 4 shrinks the Tyne Tees symbol to allow room for the following text to display:

FOR CHANNEL FOUR

  • On The Mind of David Berglas, the logo is paired with the 1982 Channel 4 logo with a white slash separating the two. Underneath them is the text reading "A TYNE TEES PRODUCTION FOR CHANNEL FOUR".
  • A Border Television co-production variant exists, which has the Tyne Tees logo on the left. Underneath both logos is "co-production".
  • On Highway, the logo is paired with six other ITV franchise logos on a blue background. Tyne Tees' logo appears on the top of the screen and is the largest amongst the other logos.

  • These include The Unknown Genius, Northern Life, Crosswits, Supergran, Kellyvision, and the first series of Chain Letters, among others.
  • The 1979 opening variant was used on all networked programmes by Tyne Tees until ITV abolished frontcaps starting on January 1, 1988.
  • The 1970 opening and closing variants both appear on the Network DVD release of Nobody's House.

4th Logo (1988-1991)[]

Visuals: Like before, it is a still version of its respective 1988 ident but with a copyright stamp underneath. Variant: Starting on September 1, 1989, the Tyne Tees logo is blue gradient with a less detailed drop shadow, and the text now reads "A TYNE TEES PRODUCTION FOR" with the 1989 ITV logo, sometimes with a copyright notice appearing below.

5th Logo (February 25, 1991-1992)[]

Visuals: On a red-green-blue gradient background, the 1991 Tyne Tees logo is shown above the text "A TYNE TEES PRODUCTION FOR" with the 1989 ITV logo and copyright notice both appearing below.

Variants:

  • From February 25 to December 1991, the logo is on a spotlight background.
  • From January 1 to May 1992, it was on a red-green-blue gradient background.
  • From May to October 4, 1992 it was on a light blue gradient background, like the network IDs of that time. The "A TYNE TEES PRODUCTION FOR" text, the 1989 ITV logo and copyright notice are also blue on the latter.

5th logo (October 5, 1992-September 2, 1996)[]

Visuals: This is a still version of the 1992 ident with the text below reading "A TYNE TEES PRODUCTION" in white. Variants:

  • The text may be reworded to read "A TYNE TEES PROGRAMME" or "A TYNE TEES PRESENTATION" (the latter of which appears at the end of movies and imported programmes such as Home and Away) below the logo.
  • The 1989 ITV logo also appears below the Tyne Tees text on networked programmes, sometimes with a copyright notice also appearing below.
  • On the 1994 UK VHS release of Newcastle United NUFC 1993 - 94 Season Review, the still version of the 1992 ident is shrunken and positioned on the top section of the screen. Underneath it is "FOR NEWCASTLE UNITED FOOTBALL COMPANY LTD." and the copyright date.
  • On Sign On 5 Because I'M A Woman, the logo is cropped, and the text also reads "A TYNE TEES TELEVISION PRODUCTION FOR CHANNEL FOUR" with the copyright notice reading © Channel Four Television MCMXCVI appearing below.

6th Logo (September 3, 1996-March 8, 1998)[]

Visuals: Like before, it is a still version of its respective 1996 ident. Here on the same background with the multiple transparent "3"s as the ident, the "3" is positioned on the top center and the bottom text reads "A TYNE TEES TELEVISION PRODUCTION FOR CHANNEL 3 NORTH EAST" in a Friz Quadrata font. Variants:

  • Sometimes, the word "PRODUCTION" may be reworded to "PROGRAMME" or "PRESENTATION" (the latter of which appears at the end of movies and imported programmes such as Home and Away).
  • From late 1997 to March 1998, the ITV URL also sometimes appears on the bottom right of the screen saying "www.itv.co.uk".
  • On networked programmes, the "3" is replaced by text reading "TYNE TEES" with the text reading "A TYNE TEES TELEVISION PRODUCTION FOR", "A TYNE TEES TELEVISION PROGRAMME FOR" or "A TYNE TEES TELEVISION PRESENTATION FOR" and the 1989 ITV logo appearing below. Also, the 1989 ITV logo is a little vertically stretched on the networked variant.
  • Sometimes, the copyright notice may also appear either below the "TYNE TEES" name or the 1989 ITV logo on networked programmes such as The Essential Guide to Parties, or below the "3" on local programmes such as Christmas Past from Beamish.
  • On programmes produced for Channel 4, the text reading "TYNE TEES" appears with the text being reworded to "A TYNE TEES TELEVISION PRODUCTION FOR CHANNEL 4", sometimes with a copyright notice also appearing below and the background also does not feature the warped and transparent "3"s at all.
  • On the 1997 UK VHS release of Newcastle United NUFC 1996 - 97 Season Review: Road to Europe, the text reading "TYNE TEES" appears with the text reading "A TYNE TEES TELEVISION PRODUCTION FOR NEWCASTLE UNITED FOOTBALL COMPANY LTD" underneath with "Copyright 1997" appearing below. Again, this variant also does not feature the warped and transparent "3"s in the background at all.
  • On the 1997 TV documentary Spitfire: Lincolnshire to Las Vegas which aired on May 19, 1997, the "3" shares the screen with the 1996 Yorkshire chevron logo with the text reworded to "A YORKSHIRE TELEVISION CHANNEL 3 NORTH EAST CO-PRODUCTION".

  • These include Quayside, Crosswits, the final series of Chain Letters, and The Essential Guide to Parties, among others.
  • However, the DVD releases mostly cut off this logo, so it appears on VHS releases of Catherine Cookson: The Wingless Bird and Catherine Cookson: The Round Tower, respectively.
  • The Channel 3 North East Co-Production variant can also be seen on the TV documentary Spitfire: Lincolnshire to Las Vegas which aired on May 19, 1997.
  • The "Tyne Tees Television Production for Newcastle United Football Company Ltd" variant of this logo appears on the 1997 UK VHS release of Newcastle United NUFC 1996 - 97 Season Review: Road to Europe.
  • The "TYNE TEES" presentation variant with both the warped and transparent "3"s in the background and the 1989 ITV logo was also recently seen on an October 16, 2022 airing of Catherine Cookson: Tilly Trotter on Drama.

8th logo (March 9, 1998-September 3, 2000)[]

Visuals: Once again, it is a still version of its respective 1998 ident. The wording and font in this logo is the same as before, but the logo now uses the 1998 Tyne Tees logo. Variants:

  • Sometimes, the word "PRODUCTION" may be reworded to "PRESENTATION" (the latter of which appears at the end of movies and imported programmes such as Home and Away).
  • Sometimes, a copyright notice appears below either the Tyne Tees text or the 1989 ITV logo.
  • Sometimes, the ITV URL also appears on the bottom right of the screen saying "www.itv.co.uk".
  • On networked programmes such as the final series of Mashed, the logo appears with the text reading "A TYNE TEES TELEVISION PRODUCTION FOR" and the 1989 ITV logo both appearing below until October 4, 1998. Also, like the 7th logo, the 1989 ITV logo is a little vertically stretched on the networked variant.
  • On programmes produced for Channel 4 such as The 100 Greatest TV Ads, the logo appears with the text reading "A TYNE TEES TELEVISION PRODUCTION FOR CHANNEL 4", which appears below.
  • On the 1998 UK VHS release of Newcastle United NUFC 1997 - 98 Season Review: The Toon, the text now reads "Production for Newcastle United Football Company Plc". Additionally, "Copyright 1998" is also added below.
  • On the 2000 UK VHS release of Newcastle United NUFC 1999 - 2000 Season Review: United Under Robson, the notice below the 1998 Tyne Tees logo now reads "TYNE TEES TELEVISION Production for Newcastle United Football Company Plc" with a copyright notice reading "© MM" which also appears below.

    • However, when Channel 4 re-aired said programme in 2004, it was plastered by the 10th logo instead.
  • The production variant with both the 1989 ITV logo and copyright notice was also seen on the final series of Mashed.

9th Logo (September 4, 2000-October 27, 2002)[]

Visuals: The background from the 2000 ident has additional transparent circles added around the 2000 Tyne Tees logo, whose stripe is now smaller where its left, fading section is visible. Underneath it is the stacked text "A Tyne Tees Television Production" with a copyright notice appearing below. Variants:

  • Programmes co-produced with Channel 4 has the logo positioned to the left.
  • On the 2001 UK VHS release of Newcastle United NUFC 2000 - 01 Season Review, the text reads "A Tyne Tees Television Production for Newcastle United FC" with the copyright notice appearing below.

10th Logo (2001-October 31, 2004)[]

Visuals: There is the same Granada purple end card with the corporate logo used by all other Granada-owned regions, however, the shadow copies are of the 2000-2002 TTTV symbol, and the square has the white 2000-2002 TTTV logo inside with the text reads "A Tyne Tees Television Production". Variants:

  • Sometimes, a copyright notice appears below.
  • On Ultimate Sci-Fi Top 10, the text was changed to "A Tyne Tees Television Production for Sky Television" with no Granada logo underneath.
  • On programmes that they produced for Channel 4, the 1999 Channel 4 "Square" logo appears alongside the 2000 TTTV logo.
  • On the 2002 UK VHS release of Newcastle United NUFC 2001 - 02 Season Review - Return of the Entertainers and the 2003 UK DVD release of Newcastle United NUFC 2002 - 03 Season Review - Flying High!, the text reads "A Tyne Tees Television Production for Newcastle United FC" with a copyright notice appearing below.
  • On the Grease episode of As They Were Famous, the logo is seen with the Liberty Bell logo. The text is also reworded to "A Tyne Tees Television Production in association with Liberty Bell".

ITV Tyne Tees Productions[]

Logo (February 2, 2004-January 16, 2006)[]

Visuals: Same as the regular ITV franchise logo where it is set on a smoky blue background with blue outlined squares scattered around. The difference here is that the 2004 ITV Tyne Tees logo is used here. Variant: On the 2004 UK DVD release of Newcastle United NUFC 2003 - 04 Season Review, the text reads "A Tyne Tees Television Production for Newcastle United Football Club" with the copyright notice reading "© Newcastle United Football Club 2004", appearing below.
