Closing Logo Group

Hong Kong Film Services (香港電影公司) is a Hong Kong-based television advertisement production company, founded in 1961.

1st Logo (1982)

Honkonsse

Logo: Five differently-colored squares move into shot from above and below and come to rest on a black background. After the final square stops moving, the screen flashes, turning background blue and all the squares white. The hanzi "香港電影公司" springsout from the bottomone by one, followed by the company's name in English, "HONG KONG FILM SERVICES", below them.

FX/SFX: The squares moving, the screen and squares changing color, the name appearing.

Music/Sounds: A bombastic fanfare with very loud timpanis. The fanfare ends with 2 notes and no timpani.

Availability: Rare. Seen on the 1982 animated film Old Master Q Water Tiger.

Scare Factor: Medium to high. The darkness of the logo, along with the bombastic music and animation would have the potential to disjoint some folks. If you're used to it like others, you will have less than a problem, but still, this stands as scary.

2nd Logo (1983)

Sacare

Logo: Five differently-colored squares emerge from the yellowish background, then pull back to come to a stop and form the logo from before. The hanzi "香港電影公司出品" springing out from the bottom one by one, followed by the English translation, "DISTRIBUTED BY HONG KONG FILM SERVICES", below them, wiping in from the top.

FX/SFX: The squares moving, the name appearing.

Music/Sounds: Same as before.

Availability:Rare. Seen on the 1983 animated film Old Master Q & "San-T".

Scare Factor: Medium, as the yellowish background may lower the scare factor, but the dark green details may still get to some audiences. Of course, this is much tamer than before!
