Background[]
Fortune Star is a media company owned by Star China Media, which is also owned by China Media Capital. They were founded in the late 1990s to hold Star's film catalogue.
1st Logo (2000-01)[]
Logo: On a black background, a moon shaped line forms a circle with a line in the middle. The line turns to reveal a "T", as the other letters unveil themselves to form the logo. After they are settled, a line forms underneath with "P I C T U R E S" fading underneath the "FORTUNE" and "STAR". The blue light goes to the right and fades, leaving us with the logo.
FX/SFX: CGI combined with 2D animation.
Music/Sounds: Twinkling as the "O" forms, wooshes as the letters come in, and a laser-like sound when the line forms.
Availability: Rare. Only seen on early prints of their catalogue, including a 2001 VCD of Game of Death.

2nd Logo (2001-present)[]
Logo: On a black background, a light spins to form a circle. A blue light shines and the screen zooms though it to see a line separating an "O". The line spins to be a "T", and the other letters show up to form the logo in a manner very similar to the previous one. The blue light fades to become a star between the text "FORTUNE" and "STAR", as a line forms, underlining the text and forming a curved line that goes upwards inside the star.
Variant: A still variant exists where the print logo is seen on a black background with the words "DISTRIBUTED BY" above it and a Chinese translarion of the company name below it. This variant has been spotted right after the normal logo on prints of various films, including the original live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles trilogy.
FX/SFX: CGI.
Music/Sounds: Whooshing as the circle is spun, and all the other letters forming in motion. Some twinkling is heard when the line is forming under the logo.
Music/Sounds Variant: The logo may appear higher pitched on some films from the company.
Availability: Common. Seen on all of Fortune Star's film library. Strangely, the logo appeared on a CineMo! airing of the Filipino film Send in the Clowns, due to Fortune Star also owning the library of its original production company, Cinema City. Appears on Hong Kong prints of My Name is Khan, whereas prints in other parts of the world have the Fox Searchlight, Fox Star, Warner Bros. Pictures and 20th Century Fox logos in front of it. Also appears on select Asian prints of The Cannonball Run in place of the first Media Asia Group logo.
