Background: Filmyug, meaning "Age of Films," was an Indian Hindi-language film production company started by Indian film producer and director J. Om Prakash.

1st Logo (February 1, 1961)[]


Logo: On a dark background, we see a dark statue illuminated from behind. At the right we see incense being burned, and there's a candle turned up in front of the statue. Suddenly, there's a light being turned up slowly, showing us the statue of a god with a cobra around it's neck. After that, we see the hands of a man on the right side of the screen and the hands of a woman on the other side. They're throwing petals to the statue and then they pray.

Trivia: The statue represents Shiva, one of the most famous Hindi Gods.

FX/SFX: The lights turning on to show the statue.

Music/Sounds: A Sitar Playful Followed by a A male singing a religious song in Hindi.

Availability: Seen only on Aas Ka Panchhi.

2nd Logo (September 4, 1964-March 4, 1986)[]


Logo: On a dark blue background is a dark statue is incense being burned on both sides where the statue. Suddenly, green and orange lights are turned up and show us again to Shiva, this time in front of some roses. After that, there is the two hands from the previous logo doing the same motion. The finished product is kind of the same as the previous logo, but in color. The company's name still doesn't appear.

FX/SFX: The lights turning on and changing of colour.

Availability: Seen on several films made by the company, like Ayee Milan Ki Bela, Aasha, Aap Ki Kasam, Aap Ke Saath, Aya Sawan Jhoom Ke or Aandhi, which can be seen on YouTube.

Editor's Note: The lights, the almost sad melody, and the statue of Shiva may scare some.

3rd Logo (November 18, 1988-September 3, 1993)[]


Logo: On an almost dark background is Shiva on a table. There are two candles on the left and another two on the right. Suddenly, there is an orange light illuminating from behind Shiva, and it's illuminated from the front. Then, the camera zooms out of Shiva and the table, to make us see a man and a woman doing playback. Now we see clearly that Shiva wears a garland of roses, covering almost all of its body. In front of the statue are bananas and other fruits. Then, the man and the woman pray. The company's name doesn't appear on this one either.

FX/SFX: The lights illuminating and the zoom.

Music/Sounds: The music used from 1964 to 1988.

Availability: Seen on Agnee and Khilona Hai.
