(1980's-1990s)

Logo: On a black background, we see red and silver blocks zooming out, moving into place, forming the current ESPN logo in silver. Then the words "HOME VIDEO" in white, fades in below the logo.

FX/SFX: The 3D blocks moving, forming the logo. It's all 3D animation.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Rare. Can be seen on ESPN VHS releases of the era, such as Sports Bloopers For Kids, among others.

2nd Logo
(1990s-2000s)

Logo: We pan down from a montage of various sports clips, which turns itself over to the left to reveal the ESPN logo in a slanted red rectangle. "THE WORLDWIDE LEADER IN SPORTS" is underneath, and at the bottom is a black rectangle with "VIDEO" in yellow on it. All this is set upon a black-blue gradient background.

FX/SFX: The live-action footage, the logo turning on its side.

Music/Sounds: The SportsCenter theme of the period.

Availability: Rare. Can be seen on ESPN VHS releases of the era, such as NASCAR 1999 Year in Review, among others.



ESPN Home Entertainment

(2000s-)

Logo: On a black-blue gradient background, a darkened light structure in the form of the ESPN logo powers on, one by one. Whilst at peak power, the text "HOME ENTERTAINMENT" (with a silver bar underneath that shines) fades in, and the lights dim down.

Variant: Early releases, such as SportsCenter Year in Review 2006, have the logo appear brighter.

FX/SFX: The light structures powering on, and "HOME ENTERTAINMENT" fading in.

Music/Sounds: The sound of lights powering on, and a crowd cheering and yelling "We want more!".
