1st Logo (January 18, 2008-December 21, 2011)[]

Logo: This is like the TV version, except the grass is higher, without a voice at the end of the logo. In a box containing a field of grass against a foggy sky, which is situated against a black background, the camera pans through the field. Suddenly, a silhouette darts back-and-forth across the screen. The robot, now done in CGI, appears in front of us with its body obscured by grass. The picture turns into a drawing and "BAD ROBOT" in the same font as the TV logo, fades in below the box.

Later Version: Starting with Morning Glory, the sky is more realistic with the brownish tint and the robot is rendered smoother.

Variant: On Morning Glory, after the later version is completed the rectangle fades to the pre-opening credit conservation in the café as the text fades out. The rectangle then very slowly extends to 16:9 scope as the conservation occurs.

FX/SFX: CGI.

Music/Sounds: The opening theme.

Availability: The normal version appears on Cloverfield and Star Trek and the later version is seen on Morning Glory, Super 8 and Mission Impossible - Ghost Protocol.

Editor’s Note: None.

2nd Logo (May 16, 2013-present)[]

Logo: Same concept as the first logo, but redone. Here, the camera moves through some tall grass to reveal a more detailed field and sky (unlike the previous logo, this takes up the whole frame instead of being boxed in). The robot makes its entrance and the picture zooms out against a black background. The end result is similar to before except when the picture turns into a drawing, the robot blinks two times.

Variants:

  • On Mission: Impossible - Fallout, it is shorter. It fades in just as the robot comes into view.
  • On Overlord (the production company's first R-rated film), the color scheme is gray-scaled.

FX/SFX: Same as the first logo, but the robot's eyes still blink after the logo turns 2D.

Music/Sounds: The opening theme.

Music/Sounds Variant: On Infinitely Polar Bear, Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, we hear some atmospheric noises (grass rustling, wind blowing, birds chirping, etc.), and at the end, the two kids saying "Bad Robot," as in its television counterpart.

Availability: Current. The normal version (with the opening theme) is seen on the opening of Star Trek Into Darkness, Infinitely Polar Bear, Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation, 10 Cloverfield Lane, Star Trek Beyond, The Cloverfield Paradox, the end of Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

Editor’s Note: None.
