Background: BBC Worldwide is the commercial arm of the British Broadcasting Corparation (the BBC).

1st Logo (1996)

Logo: We see the CGI version of the 1988 BBC logo from the 1990-1997 BBC Video logo, except "WORLDWIDE" is seen underneath. "DISTRIBUTED THROUGH" is also seen above the logo.

FX/SFX: None, unless you count the logo fading in.

Music/Sounds: The ending theme from the closing credits.

Availability: Appears at the end of the 1996 TV movie of Doctor Who.

Scare Factor: None.

2nd Logo (1996)

Nicknames: "That Last Chance to See Title Card logo at the End of award winning shorts", "A United Artists (Marble Stone & Gathering Lights) logo Rip-Off", "Boring Title Card of Award Winning Shorts"

Logo: On a grey-dark green marble wall background with two black widescreen bars at the top and bottom, we see 2 white lines. Above the first white line is the text "LAST CHANCE TO SEE" in Adorn Serif bold font. Above the "LAST CHANCE TO SEE" text is either name of animal, plant, sea creature, insect, reptile or bird with a question mark in Copperplate Gothic font above the second white line. The 1988 BBC logo (in white) is shown above the second widescreen box, which reads:

© [BBC logo] WORLDWIDE LTD (year in Roman numerals)

in white.

Variant: At the end of the last ever Last Chance to See award winning short, instead of "LAST CHANCE TO SEE" text, the text: "WAS THIS YOUR" in the same Adorn Serif font and the same "LAST CHANCE TO SEE" text in the same Copperplate Gothic font with the same question mark.

FX/SFX: Just the fading in.

Music/Sounds: The closing theme to the award winning shorts.

Availability: Seen on BBC's Last Chance to See. The award winning shorts no longer aired on BBC Two during the schools programmes while all of the award winning shorts can be found on the Vimeo website.

Scare Factor: None.

3rd Logo (2001-2009)

Logo: In the closing credits, we see the BBC logo. "Worldwide" is to the right of it.

FX/SFX: None, unless you count the logo fading in.

Music/Sounds: The ending theme of the show.

Availability: Appears on the 2001 revivals of Bill and Ben and Andy Pandy.

Scare Factor: None.

4th Logo (2009-1st April 2018)

Logo: Same as the 2009 BBC Video/DVD logo, except that it is shorter, and a copyright notice appears below.


  • "Worldwide Sales & Distribution" sometimes appears below the BBC logo.
  • Another version of the "WS&D" logo exists on non-Australian prints of early season 1 episodes of Bluey, in which the above text "PRODUCED IN ASSOCIATION WITH AND DISTRIBUTED BY BBC WORLDWIDE" and the below text "Bluey © 2018 Ludo Studio" fades in.
  • Sometimes, "Worldwide Channels" replaces "Worldwide Sales & Distribution".
  • There is an in-credit version which is still and smaller, and has the BBC logo and "Worldwide" inside the purple square from the animated version. "Sales & Distribution" is removed.

FX/SFX: Same as the 2009 BBC Video/DVD logo, except that it is shorter, and "Worldwide Sales & Distribution", "Worldwide Channels", or a copyright notice fading in on the variants. None on the in-credit version.

Music/Sounds: Same as the 2009 BBC Video/DVD logo, but shorter.

Music/Sounds Variant:

  • The ending theme can be played over the logo sometimes.
  • Sometimes on Bluey, the logo's music and the finishing of the episode's ending theme plays at the same time.

Availability: Common. Seen on shows from BBC Worldwide, such as Clangers. One of the shows with the in-credit logo is Hey Duggee. The "Worldwide Sales & Distribution" logo can be currently seen on Bluey.

Scare Factor: Low.

FINAL NOTE: On 29 November 2017, it was announced that BBC Worldwide would merge with BBC Studios as of 1 April 2018.
