Background: Affirm Films was formed in 2008 by Sony Pictures Entertainment to release gospel and inspirational films on DVD like 21st Century Fox's Fox Faith. In the beginning, Columbia Pictures released several inspirational films. It's last recent gospel film under Sony before the launch of Affirm Films was the 2007 film Facing the Giants released by Destination Films and Samuel Goldwyn Films.

Nickname: "The Heavenly Sky"

Logo: On a black background, there is a white wide rectangle in the center. Inside it has "AFFIRM" in Arial Black with a blue sky with white clouds inside the word. Next to the word is "FILMS" in Times New Roman in black. Below has the byline "A Sony Pictures Entertainment Company" in the color and font as "FILMS".

FX/SFX: The simple fade in and fade out of the logo.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Only seen on Fireproof.

Scare Factor: None.

Nickname: "The Heavenly Sky II"

Logo: We see the screen full of clouds, which later then clear out to reveal the cloud background from the 1993 Columbia Pictures logo with the heavenly lights shining around it. Then, the words "AFFIRM FILMS" in the same font as before and in cut-out, zoom out leaving the background inside the text. As the logo settles, the logo changes into its similar style from before, except it's in CGI and the lights fade out. The byline, "A Sony Pictures Entertainment Company" appears under "FILMS".

  • 2009-2014: "A Sony Pictures Entertainment Company" in Times New Roman.
  • 2014-2015?: "A Sony Company" in the same font as the previous byline.
  • 2015-present: "A Sony Company" in Arial Black, centered underneath the logo.

  • On trailers for its releases, the logo is still.
  • Starting with the release of All Saints, the Sony logo transition is used, just like other logos from other SPE film divisions.

FX/SFX: The clouds moving, the text zooming out.

Music/Sounds: A nice, relaxing music played by a guitar. On All Saints, we hear a majestic fanfare.

Availability: Appears on Affirm Films releases since 2009 such as The Grace Card, Faith Like Potatoes, and Courageous.

Scare Factor: None. The music is relaxing.
