Closing Logo Group

Background[]

20th Television Animation (formerly Fox Television Animation) is an American animation studio that creates, develops and produces adult animated television series and specials, like The Simpsons and Family Guy. It is a standalone unit from 20th Television, a unit of Disney Television Studios, a subsidiary of Walt Disney Television, which is part of the Disney General Entertainment Content division of The Walt Disney Company.

The studio was launched on May 19, 1999 as Fox Television Animation. In September 2020, it was renamed to 20th Television Animation; this served as their overall removal of the "Fox" name off of properties Disney inherited from 21st Century Fox. They didn't use an on-screen logo until late-September 2021, the logo they had before the studio rename was just an end-credit notice.

1st Logo (July 25, 2021)[]

Logo: We see the current 20th Television print logo in gold. Below it is the word "ANIMATION". All of the logo (except for the word "TELEVISION") is crudely drawn.

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Only seen exclusively on the 2021 Comic-Con@Home panel of season 33 of The Simpsons.

2nd Logo (September 26, 2021-)[]

Nicknames: "The 20th TV Animation Tower", "Cheap Tower"

Logo: Same as the current 20th Television logo, except with the text "ANIMATION" added in place of a simple gold rectangle below "TELEVISION". The whole logo also appears to have been redone, with brighter searchlights, a slightly different sky and different lighting (including the top of the "h" at the back of the structure).

Variant: On the Family Guy episode "The Fatman Always Rings Twice," the logo is in black and white to fit the episode's theme.

FX/SFX: Same as the 20th Television logo.

Music/Sounds:

  • The 2007 TCFTV logo theme.
  • The 2008 20th Television logo theme, sometimes shortened.
  • On American Dad!, the shortened 1997 TCFTV theme is heard.

Availability: Current.

  • This logo debuted on the season 33 premiere episode of The Simpsons, "The Star of Backstage," and later appeared on season 2 of The Great North, season 12 of Bob's Burgers and season 20 of Family Guy.
  • It also appears on Solar Opposites, starting with its holiday special, and American Dad! starting with season 19.

Editor's Note: The logo looks rather cheap and misshapen in places, and the background was reused from the regular 20th Television logo. However, it's likely that this logo is a placeholder.
